Seattle Kraken Announcer Everett Fitzhugh Shows Off his Seattle Favorites in Visit Seattle’s Newest I Know a Place Video

SEATTLE – Seattle Kraken announcer Everett ‘Fitz’ Fitzhugh is inviting travelers – near and far – to discover the new city he calls home. The voice of the Kraken partnered with Visit Seattle to document a video tour of his favorite Seattle spots through the organization’s I Know a Place campaign. Everett’s video is also live on Visit Seattle’s social platforms (@visitseattle).

“I’m in awe of Seattle,” said Everett. “I remember growing up and visiting Seattle and being shocked that a place like this could exist. You’ve got a major city, tucked up against the mountains and nestled by the sea. Being able to explore everything this city has to offer – and sharing that experience with my loved ones – is the adventure of a lifetime.”

Everett’s video features the broadcaster showing off his city to his wife, Shelly (a new Seattle resident), and his Los Angeles-based sister-in-law, Leesie. Among the stops along Everett’s city tour include: The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Edgeworks Climbing + Fitness, Stoup Brewing and Electric Boat Company.

At just 32-years old, Everett is the soundtrack to the Seattle Kraken’s historic inaugural season. From playing in the most sustainable arena in the world to the postgame salmon toss, the Seattle Kraken is proving to be a team that matches the creative spirit of the city it calls home. Everett is the proud voice of it all. Everett is the proud voice of it all. Everett made history when the Seattle Kraken named him their team play-by-play announcer, making him the first Black play-by-play announcer in league history.

Everett is the newest Seattleite to be featured in I Know a Place. The campaign kicked off in September, with Top Chef season 18 contestants Chef Shota Nakajima showing his hometown to Chef Sara Hauman. More notable Seattleites in culinary, sports, arts, culture and music will soon welcome back visitors by sharing their Seattle hotspots for dining, shopping, staycations and more – with new videos running throughout the year.
