Project Five By Five

What do Jimi Hendrix, a Sasquatch, ice cream, Bruce Lee and nature all have in common? Seattle, of course. In this series, we invite five notable filmmakers to visit Seattle as inspiration for a short film that shares the story of the city. Project Five by Five explores their specific, personal takes that immerse viewers and share the unique stories of the Emerald City.

All at Sea (Martha Stephens)

Project Five by Five

Bruce Lee’s relationship with Seattle inspires this short: a fictionalized account of a brief moment in his life when he felt isolated, frustrated and restless. But the sight of Seattle’s skyline from his boat on the Puget Sound reminds him how to find his balance, and allows his mind to once again be as fluid as water. Directed by Martha Stephens.
