Burgers & Brats

When the sun is high above, there’s nothing better than a juicy burger or perfectly grilled hot dog with all the fixings.

Deep Dive

Hot dogs can be classy too, and Deep Dive, located at the base of the Amazon Spheres, certainly takes that to heart. The upscale twist on the Seattle Dog boasts salmon caviar along with whipped cream cheese, jalapeños, and pickled red onion. Pair it with a house cocktail to really lean into the mood.

Dick’s Drive-In

There is no more quintessential burger than one from Dick’s, a Seattle mainstay since 1954. Go for the Deluxe and bite into two 1/8-pound never-frozen grilled patties topped with melted American cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, and pickle relish on a locally made bun. Round out the throwback burger with a side of fries and a milkshake.

Matt’s Famous Chili Dogs

When in Rome, do as Romans do—and when in Seattle, you have to try a Seattle Dog. And Matt’s in Georgetown will hook you up with this local delicacy: a 100-percent beef dog served with cream cheese and grilled onions. Compare and contrast to the Chicago Dog, the New York Dog, or the Slaw Dog.

Lil Woody’s

Why should carnivores have all the fun? At Lil Woody’s—with locations in Ballard, Capitol Hill, and White Center—you can sub an Impossible Burger for any preparation, and add a gluten-free bun if you wish. Try the Veggie Veggie, a house-made black bean burger with diced pickles, chopped onions, tomato slices, lettuce, and ketchup.

49th Street Beast

When you’re craving a fancy burger, head to this casual outpost of the tremendously acclaimed Beast and Cleaver restaurant that’s located at Ballard’s hip Fair Isle Brewing. Crafted from 100-day-aged beef, this melt-in-your-mouth patty is topped with just American cheese and ketchup. Arrive early—these heavenly burgers sell out fast.

Halcyon Brewing Company

Available in all-beef and veggie varieties, the creative hot dogs at Halcyon in Greenwood take their inspiration from Asian flavors. Consider the Japanese Umami Bomb, flavored with chili oil, nori strips, and green onion; the Ode to Báhn Dog, complete with pickled carrot and daikon, jalapeño, and cilantro; and the Kim Cheese, the perfect melding of—you guessed it—kimchi and cheese.
