Visit Seattle Introduces New Digital Savings Passport Through Bandwango

The Perks Pass encourages convention attendees and cruise passengers to explore Seattle

SEATTLEVisit Seattle today announces the launch of the Perks Pass, a new digital savings passport available via Bandwango. This free platform highlights local attractions, retail outlets, and restaurants that offer discounts to convention and cruise visitors, inspiring them to experience more of what the Emerald City has to offer during their stay. Current discounted offerings include some of Seattle’s most popular destinations such as Seattle Art Museum, Kenmore Air, Smith Tower, the Seattle Symphony, and more.

Before or during their trip to Seattle, visitors can access the digital savings passport by providing their name, e-mail address, and phone number. Bandwango will then send a passport link to the user’s phone providing convenient access during their trip. Once a visitor is ready to redeem the pass, they show their savings passport to the vendor to claim their discount.

With the continued growth of blended travel – also known as bleisure – this new initiative encourages meeting attendees to frontload or extend their stay in the city. “Our conventions team embraces every chance to help meeting planners infuse the spirit of Seattle into their events,” says Michael Woody, SVP & Chief Communications Officer at Visit Seattle. “This program is an easily integrated tool for planners that will enhance the attendee experience during their meeting and in the surrounding days as they will inevitably want to continue exploring.”

Following a record-breaking Seattle cruise season in 2023, the introduction of this program seeks to stimulate cruise passenger spending before and after their trip. “Cruise is an incredibly important component of Seattle’s tourism sector,” Woody added. “In 2023, nearly 1.8 million revenue passengers came through the Port of Seattle. Communicating Seattle’s offerings to this group is key to our organization as we seek to drive consumer revenue throughout our community. The Perks Pass will certainly amplify those efforts. We see tremendous potential in this program and we are excited to develop it further.”
