Mountaineering Club

A hidden gem located above the Graduate hotel in the U-District, Mountaineering Club has 360 views of Seattle with both indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend sitting outdoors and ordering one of their signature cocktails like “93 Miles of Wonderland” and “Not Coming Home Tonight” – the perfect way to sip away a summer evening gazing at the sunset.

Conversation

This up-and-coming brunch restaurant, Conversation, located in Thompson Seattle, has a modern take on classic American fare. I tried their classic eggs Benedict and was delighted. I recommend coming here with friends on a Sunday to grab mimosas and then take a walk to Pike Place Market.

Ma’ono University Village

Who doesn’t love fried chicken? Ma’ono in University Village adds a little Hawaiian twist to fried chicken, located inside Rachel’s Ginger Beer, with a very simple menu. I love to order the sandwich with a medium heat level; I’ve tried the “hot” heat level, and trust me when I say, it gets really hot—so experiment at your own risk!

Coffeeholic House

The next time you’re looking to escape the heat, make your way to Columbia city for a refreshing drink from Seattle’s first Vietnamese-centered coffee shop, Coffeeholic House. Their absolute must-try drinks are the Coffeholic Dream (don’t forget to add the Uber drizzle), Purple Haze Latte and the Coco-Mango smoothie (a summer special). Don’t miss the beautiful mural inside the cafe, it’s the perfect photo opp with your yummy drink.

Union Coffee

I love the space at Union Coffee—it’s so beautifully designed. Most days, you’ll find the owner, Geetu, behind the bar talking with customers which makes for a very friendly environment. Their iced lavender latte is an absolute must-try—it has amazing flavor and it’s not too sweet.

Dr. Jose P Rizal Bridge

Some places just call out to you and Jose Rizal Bridge is one of them for me. I come here every so often to watch the sun set over the Olympics on the horizon with the city skyline in the foreground. Try to get here at least 30 minutes before the sunset and don’t forget to bring a camera.

Ella Bailey Park

Located in Magnolia, Ella Bailey Park is a hidden gem that most locals don’t even know about. It’s a peaceful place with amazing views of the city skyline where I often come after work to unwind.

This cute boutique is located in Ballard Market and has an amazing collection of apparel and products. I often find gifts for friends in their home section (and always seem to walk away with something for myself too). It’s also the perfect place to stroll to after visiting the Ballard Farmers Market on Sundays.
