Join Visit Seattle as we promote Seattle and King County to our key international and overseas visitor markets. Connect with key travel trade and media decision-makers by participating in upcoming trade shows and hosting opportunities.

These sales opportunities are available for Visit Seattle members in 2024:

  • Western Canada Sales Mission | British Columbia and Alberta | Oct 28-30 2024 (SOLD OUT): Visit Seattle will be leading a sales mission to Western Canada, Seattle’s top international market. Traveling with Visit Seattle members, the group will be meeting with tour operators and travel agents who promote year-round travel to Seattle. Cities include Vancouver and the surrounding area, Edmonton, and Calgary.

The Tourism Development Department will be participating in the following programs in 2024:

  • Brand USA India Sales Mission | India | January 21-25: Visit Seattle is excited to make its debut appearance at the 2024 Brand USA India Sales and Media Mission—an exclusive platform that enables U.S. partners to forge valuable connections with key players in the Indian travel trade and media landscape. Our participation in this event will cultivate dynamic interactions, paving the way for mutually advantageous relationships between Seattle and India’s thriving travel market. Anticipate meaningful 1:1 appointments with key travel trade and media, as we showcase the unique charm and attractions that make Seattle a must-visit destination to this market.
  • Brand USA Mexico Sales Mission | Mexico City and Guadalajara | January 29 – February 2: Visit Seattle is consistently looking to expand our presence in Mexico, while driving visitation from this market. This sales mission includes visits to Mexico City and Guadalajara and it will include approximately 35 1:1-appointments with travel trade and media, as well as in-person destination training for a total of approximately 200 agents. This mission will be an opportunity to connect directly with the leading travel trade in Mexico. Developing and strengthening face-to-face business relationships with key partners in-market is a great way to continue to grow and nurture strong inbound visitation from what is the USA’s second largest source market of international travelers.
  • IITA Summit | Memphis, TN | February 11-23: IITA is involved in a wide range of industry activities, working with suppliers, DMOs, industry organizations and regulatory agencies to improve the quality of travel related services for visitors to the US. IITA’s mission is to grow inbound travel to the USA by providing the best and widest range of product, services and information to the international travel trade. The Summit also provides a variety of educational sessions on topics that are impacting the industry. Visit Seattle will conduct 1:1 appointments to provide an update on Seattle and discuss potential 2024 partnerships.
  • VUSA Expo Australia | Australia & New Zealand | February 14-23: Visit Seattle will travel Down Under for Visit USA and Brand USA’s Australia/New Zealand Expo Week. The two-week program includes trade expos in Sydney (AU), Melbourne (AU), Brisbane (AU), Auckland (NZ), Christchurch (NZ); as well as 1:1 appointments with top travel trade and travel media. The 3 events will reach key travel trade professionals and will allow exhibitors to educate travel agents, wholesale reservations, sales staff, product buyers and media representatives. In addition, we will  attend the Visit USA Networking event, and the Brand USA B2B day, which consists of a full day of meetings with Australia’s most prominent wholesalers, tour operators and media companies to discuss potential collaborations.
  • Go West Summit | Lake Tahoe, NV | February 26-29: Go West Summit is an annual travel trade event in North America that focuses on promoting and facilitating tourism in the western part of the United States. The summit typically brings together travel industry professionals, including tour operators, travel advisors, and destination representatives, to engage in networking, one-on-one appointments, and educational sessions where Visit Seattle will be participating in 1:1 appointments and networking events to promote and drive visitation to the destination as well as share updates on what’s new in Seattle.
  • Italy Sales Mission with Brand USA | Rome, Milan and Turin | April 7-14: Brand USA will host an inaugural, week-long market immersion taking place in Rome, Milan, and Turin, Italy from April 7-12, 2024. This Italian market immersion is a new concept specifically aimed at selected U.S. DMOs with significant potential in the market, to introduce them to key Italian stakeholders, and motivate them to invest in tourism marketing initiatives. The main objective of this initiative is to stimulate travel demand and facilitate economic growth for the chosen destinations from Italy. The immersion is comprised of comprehensive market education, trade relationship building, agent training, and other activities with key Italian stakeholders which will be a great opportunity for Visit Seattle to showcase our destination to the emerging Italian market.
  • IPW 2024 | Los Angeles, CA | May 3-7: With an estimate of 5,000 industry professionals in attendance, U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is the travel industry’s premier international marketplace and the largest generator of travel to the United States. In three days of intensive pre-scheduled business appointments, Visit Seattle, along with nine partners, will meet with key international travel trade clients from all over the world to build and nurture these key relationships.
  • US China Summit | Xi’an, China | May 21-23: This annual event is more than just a conference; it’s a fantastic opportunity for leaders from the Chinese and U.S. tourism industries to connect, share insights, and build lasting connections, making an ideal environment for participants to forge valuable relationships that will benefit the tourism industries in both countries.
  • Brand USA Canada Connect | Canada | June 3-7: Visit Seattle will be participating in Brand USA’s 2024 Canada Connect. This program provides an opportunity for U.S. partners to reach key trade contacts in the Canada travel industry. Tentatively, cities include Montreal and Toronto. We anticipate forging meaningful connections through personalized 1:1 appointments. This is an exclusive chance to showcase Seattle’s unique offerings and solidify partnerships between Seattle and Canada.
  • Brand USA Japan & South Korea Sales Mission | Japan and South Korea | Jul 15-19: The Brand USA’s 2024 Japan & Korea Sales Mission will give an opportunity for U.S. partners to reach key trade contacts in the both the Japan and South Korea travel industry through tailored 1:1 appointments.
  • Brand USA Travel Week | London, UK | October 21-24: Brand USA will host an exclusive series of B2B meetings, educational opportunities, and consumer activations in London, UK. The workshop is designed to provide U.S. destinations and their representatives in the United Kingdom and Europe, the latest information on how Brand USA is working with the influential travel trade and media to increase international visitation to the United States. This will be an opportunity to discuss future bookings, explore travel trends, and enhance opportunities to drive visitation to our destination.
  • NTA Trex | Huntsville, AL | November 17-20: Travel Exchange brings together packaged travel professionals from all over North America and around the world. The National Tour Association’s annual conference features buyers of all types and specialties who meet with tour suppliers, DMOs, and tour directors and guides to build partnerships, collaborations, and creative itineraries, creating  opportunities for networking, business development, and industry education.
  • USTOA | Marco Island, FL | December 9-13: The USTOA Annual Conference & Marketplace has distinguished itself for being the only travel industry event in the United States that brings together the leading North American travel companies with tourism suppliers and destinations from around the globe in an intimate and exclusive setting. The conference will present a unique business casual atmosphere for a small select group of 700 travel professionals and networking opportunities throughout the conference to make new contacts and conduct business; direct and unprecedented access to travel industry leaders and decision makers representing the top US based travel companies; highly informative speaker sessions and invaluable insight into the North American travel market and the latest factors and trends affecting the industry and travelers across the globe.
