What are your favorite spots to kayak and bike in Seattle?

Elliott Bay is one of my favorites—you get stunning views of the downtown skyline, Olympic mountains, and surrounding islands as you paddle. The paved, 2.5-mile Alki Beach bike path offers a scenic ride with breathtaking vistas. Perfect for cyclists of all skill levels, it’s the quintessential beach ride.

How would you describe West Seattle for newcomers?

Many don’t realize that West Seattle is the city’s birthplace. Beyond its historic roots, it maintains a close-knit, small-beach-town atmosphere that makes it charming to explore.

Where’s a good place to eat in West Seattle?

Marination Ma Kai is perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and happy hour. Try the kalbi beef tacos or indulge in one of the vegan and gluten-free options. At happy hour, don’t miss their signature drink, the Little Kayak!

What’s your favorite time of year to enjoy the outdoors?

While summer is great for getting out on the water, spring and fall offer increased wildlife sightings as migratory birds, California sea lions, gray and humpback whales, and orcas frequent the area.
