Coinciding with the Mariners’ opening day, this event showcased Visit Seattle’s key accomplishments of the past year, revealed the latest visitation data, provided an update on the state of the tourism industry, and offered a glimpse at key initiatives planned for 2026. Following the stage program, attendees were invited to network and enjoy tailgate-themed bites and beverages before the game!

Visit Seattle Releases 2025 Visitation Data at Annual Meeting

Visit Seattle, the official destination marketing organization for Seattle and King County, released visitation data for 2025 during its Annual Meeting at the Seattle Convention Center’s Summit building. The event, which drew more than 500 members of Seattle’s hospitality community, also featured a panel of local leaders discussing how the city and region are preparing to host six matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Visit Seattle’s 2025 data shows:

  • 39.6 million visitors came to Seattle and King County in 2025, a 0.9% decrease from 2024
  • Visitor spending totaled $8.8 billion, a 0.2% drop from 2024
  • The tourism economy supported 68,375 jobs, representing a 0.4% year-over-year increase
  • State and local taxes generated by Seattle and King County’s hospitality industry ticked up by 0.1% to $840 million
  • Generated tax revenue represented a tax offset of $892 per household in King County. The tax offset shows a slight decrease from 2024, as King County’s population increased in 2025
