Pooch Dreams

If ever a city embraced four-legged visitors, it’s Seattle, which is home to several hotels at the vanguard of rolling out the red carpet for pets.

Kimpton’s three Seattle properties—Hotel Monaco (1101 Fourth Ave), Hotel Vintage (1100 Fifth Ave), and Palladian Hotel (2000 Second Ave)—eagerly welcome any “furry, feathery, or scaly family member, no matter their size, weight, or breed, all at no extra charge.” Perks include plush loaner beds, food and water bowls, a nightly pet-friendly wine reception, and a concierge list that recommends pet-welcoming restaurants, groomers, and boutiques.

At the Denny Park Hotel (2125 Terry Ave), which is a mere Frisbee toss from the off-leash dog area at Denny Park (100 Dexter Ave N), the Paws & Relax program welcomes pups at check-in with special treats and comfy in-room beds, and a voucher good for a treat at the Seattle Barkery (2225 Eighth Ave), an excellent shop to pick up fresh-baked cookies and cakes for dogs. The hotel also partners with Say Woof (2215 Eighth Ave), a local dog photography studio that can create a beautiful portrait of you and your trusty sidekick.

Hotel Max (620 Stewart St) has a Pets Rock Seattle package that comes with a signature welcome kit of healthy treats, colorful toys, and a list of local resources—from dog walkers to pet psychics. Puppy perks provided by the Scandinavian-inspired Hotel Ändra Seattle (2000 Fourth Ave) include bowls, a mat, and a warm blanket for snuggling. Hotel 1000 (1000 First Ave) welcomes four-legged guests with organic snacks and reusable totes to stow pet-related goodies.

Dozens of other accommodations throughout the city—including the Thompson Seattle (110 Stewart St), Ace Hotel Seattle (2423 First Ave), and the Hotel Sorrento (900 Madison St)—encourage guests to bring their pets. You can find a list with additional pet-friendly lodgings at visitseattle.org/lodging/dog-friendly-hotels.
