We’ve got spirit. Yes. We. Do.
Seattle’s love for sports is remarkable. We know how to keep dreams alive by galvanizing a community into rabid fandom. And that goes beyond our professional and collegiate sports teams. From Little League to bowling, and flat-track roller derby to beach volleyball, the sense of spirit in Seattle is contagious, creating an amazing setting for your next sports tournament or meeting.
Our community is serious about sports:
- Seattle was honored to host the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games. It was one of the largest sporting events to hit the region in more than 25 years—and one of the most meaningful. Special Olympics embodies the city’s spirit of inclusion and celebrating all people.
- Seattle holds one of the highest average attendance records in Major League Soccer, beating out some premier league teams’ attendance in England.
- The Seattle Storm, our beloved WNBA team, has four championship titles, and is one of just two woman-owned franchises in the country.
- Rat City Roller Girls (and their youth teams like the Seattle Derby Brats) command a dedicated following of flat-track roller derby fans. The Roller Girls were the subject of a documentary that was screened at 14 film festivals around the world.
- Seattle has broken the record for being the loudest stadium in sports, recording 136.6 decibels at a Seahawks game in 2013 to record a new Guinness world record.
- In just 12 minutes, the city sold 10,000 season tickets to support the Seattle Kraken‘s inaugural season–before the team had yet played and didn’t even exist at the time. THAT’S fandom.
- OL Reign is Seattle’s professional women’s soccer team and was an inaugural member of the National Women’s Soccer League in 2013. They hold two NWSL Shield awards for best regular season.
- The Seattle Seawolves—Seattle’s first Major League Rugby team began their inaugural season in 2018. They’ve won the hearts of sports fans, and cultivated a big following—selling out of all season tickets before their very first match!

We have the full gamut of venues for events of all sizes: from beach volleyball courts, soccer fields, sports complexes, aquatic centers, softball and baseball fields, to our world-class facilities Lumen Field, T-Mobile Park, and University of Washington’s Husky Stadium and Alaska Airlines Arena. In addition, Climate Pledge Arena opened in the fall of 2022.
