On July 14, 1873, a much-anticipated telegram announced that Tacoma had been chosen as the terminus, or end of the railway line, for the Northern Pacific Railroad transcontinental. This exhibition is drawn from the Historical Society’s collection and features original documents, objects, and photographs connected to that event and its impact on Washington State.
