If we’re being honest, February isn’t known for having the best weather in the Northwest. So here’s some great news for those of you looking to ignore the gray and immerse yourself in art, history, culture and family fun. February is Seattle Museum Month, and with your overnight stay in a downtown Seattle hotel, you and your family will enjoy 50% off admission at 41 museums in Seattle and the region.

Here’s the unbeatable deal: stay in any of 59 participating Seattle hotels during the month of February and receive a Seattle Museum Month Guest Pass that entitles your group to 50% off admission at more than 40 amazing and inspiring museums and cultural organizations. From Seattle Aquarium to Woodland Park Zoo, from the Museum of Glass to the Pacific Science Center, from EMP to MOHAI, from Bellevue Arts Museum to the Burke Museum of Natural History & Culture, from the Museum of Flight to the LeMay – America’s Car Museum, from the USS Turner Joy Museum Ship to Chihuly Garden and Glass, from Seattle Art Museum to The Wing, from the Living Computer Museum to the Seattle Pinball Museum, you’re certain to enjoy exploring our region’s unique collection of museums. And here’s the thing: that’s not even half the list! Dozens more await your discovery — and many of them offer free admission.

Exhibit and event highlights in February include the first large-scale Hello Kitty museum retrospective in the United States on view at EMP Museum, and Kehinde Wiley’s thought-provoking large scale portraits, on exhibit at SAM starting February 11. Bellevue Arts Museum presents the US premiere of an internationally touring retrospective of one of the 20th century’s great master builders, architect Louis Kahn. Seattle Aquarium celebrates one of the coolest creatures found in the Puget Sound with Octopus Week, and the Northwest African American Museum honors Black History Month with a variety of events, lectures and workshops. The LeMay Car Museum salutes American muscle cars and the Nordic Heritage Museum examines the cultural history of Scandinavian spirits.
